Unique Fall Hair Trends to Fall in Love With

Autumn is upon us and with that comes crisp autumn breezes, pumpkin everything, and New England foliage that’s the envy of the rest of the world. Of course, here at the salon we’re awash in copper highlights, moody dark hues, and bold textured cuts, everything you need to embrace this new season of the year, and your life. But with all the typical fall trends you’d expect there’s a few unique looks that have caught our eye. So if you’re looking to turn heads this fall, why not try one of these showstopping looks.

Blue Hair Color: Even though sunny beach days and bluebird skies have been replaced with cozy sweaters and moody clouds, it doesn’t mean you can’t still rock some blue in your hair. We’re seeing everything from aqua ombre to moody all over midnight blue looks. Whatever makes you feel the most magical.

The Modern Beehive: From runways to the sidewalks of Newton the modern beehive is making a comeback. It’s like the pouf hair trend of the mid 2000s with a retro glamour feel. This is best for those with medium-long to long hair as you’ll need to do a lot of teasing to acquire the desired look. Pair with a pearl headband for some elegance or add some colorful streak to keep it funky!

The Hush-Cut: Hair lacking volume and movement? The hush-cut is ideal for fine hair that could use a little boost. The trendy, Korean-inspired hush cut combines wispy bangs, face-framing tendrils, and lived-in layers to give hair quieter, more subdued volume. For the best look we recommend you have your stylist cut your hair while dry so you can see exactly where the layers will be.

Cherry Cola Hair Color: We saw this trend hit a few years ago and she is back! This rich, dark red look can look amazing on anyone. Have fair/cool skin tones? Have your stylist lean into more of a deep red tone. For warmer skin tones stick to the traditional red-violet color. Unlike the cowboy copper of last fall, this is a moodier and more intense look that is also more adaptable for out-growth.

Wolf Cut: This look will have you howling at the moon, or at least singing the praises of your stylist on the phone. The wolf cut is the shaggy, textured, retro look we’re all craving this fall. It’s between a shag and a mullet and has a lot of versatility. Want is wild and free or more tamed? Either one becomes an absolute show stopper. It’s all about volume, texture, and full luscious bangs.
